XMAS

It is the Holiday Season

Thanksgiving has passed, Advent has foretold the birth of the Christ child.

He is born.

We remind ourselves of the two commandments.  Honor God and Cherish each other.  However, you read those words they are the say.  I would say to you.  Let us be frank.

How can you love God if you cannot cherish all of his creations?

The division we feel only growing wider reminds me of the battles fought and lives lost in the pursuit of personal gain. How can you fight each other if you say you love God and honor him in your lives.

It is time we band together to seek peace
For without it we cannot honor God.

With these words let us ring in the New Year.

The winter solstice has past and the day beings to grow longer.

We now think of the new year that is to begin

Each faith follows its own path

Your path
(: my path :|: may they 🙂
follow each other
In kindness and holiday hope

At 93, the Doctor, my dad the MD, has years to serve and save

Living in the awe of the marsh, the ocean and the blessings of the Golden Coast

May I reflect back on years past

and share that which has been shared before

Let Christmas not become a thing merely of merchandising

Let Christmas not become a thing
Merely of merchant’s trafficking,
Of tinsel, bell and holly wreath
And surface pleasure, but beneath
The childish glamour, let us find
Nourishment for soul and mind.
Let us follow kinder ways
Through our teeming human maze,
And help the age of peace to come
From a Dreamer’s martyrdom.
~Madeline Morse

A
Christmas candle is a lovely thing;
It makes no noise at all,
But softly gives itself away.
~Eva Logue

Christmas, children, is not a date.
It is a state of mind.
~Mary Ellen Chase

Only
in souls the Christ is brought to birth,
And there He lives and dies.

And the Grinch, with his Grinch-feet ice cold in the snow, stood puzzling and puzzling, how could it be so? It came without ribbons. It came without tags. It came without packages, boxes or bags. And he puzzled and puzzled ’till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn’t before. What if Christmas, he thought, doesn’t come from a store. What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more. ~Dr. Seuss
